Carlson Studio Architecture has been awarded a 2002 Award for Excellence in Architecture from the Florida AIA for their work on G.WIZ. G.WIZ is a hands-on science and technology center. The project included several phases. The first phase included extensive planning. The planning phase included a building evaluation of the new location, a facility program and a phasing study to determine the transition strategy into the new location. The next phase designed the facility renovation and exhibit design. The program included 17,000 SF of exhibit space, 3,500 SF of classroom and administrative office space and a 4,000 SF children's theater and auditorium.
